Hello blog followers! Time for an update...
Daniel deployed to Afghanistan on Mother's Day of this year. He has been back with his unit for over a year and been very busy earning an EIB (Expert Infantryman Badge), passing a Pathfinder Course, receiving the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award, working as Executive Officer of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, and promoting to Captain. His family and friends are so proud of his accomplishments and supportive of his decision to continue to be a vital part of his unit.
We wanted to update the blog with information about the work of his company and the needs they have there. He is much more remote than he was in Baghdad, Iraq. The internet isn't quite as reliable, so communication is more difficult. As we hear news, we will update the blog, keeping a central network of support going for him and his fellow soldiers.
We received two calls, one letting us know he was there safe and sound, and another telling us about the environment there and providing us with a wish list for the men. Note his mailing address has been added to the blog and the wish list. If you send items from the list, please add a comment to the blog so that we can update.
