Telephone Communication Available at the Outpost

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL!

We received two calls from the outpost today. Daniel is able to talk in 15 minute blocks via satellite phone from his remote location. It was great to talk with him and hear that they participated in their own "fireworks" display for July 4th celebrations.

He continues to talk about the great packages they are receiving from you all. They have been great and they are using or have eaten everything you've sent. One note about the shower bags. He says they seem to be for limited used for camping trips and get holes in them. They have made good use of them but are happy to find out that they should soon have some showers built for them for more permanent use.

Too bad Steve can't get over there as Daniel would like some input on building a tower out of cinder block and 2x4's. I suppose an Army ROTC marketing major from Auburn can get it done! WAR EAGLE!

Check out his brigade's facebook page. Directions: Log into your facebook account. Search - 2nd Brigade Strike. Click on the crest (eagle talons). Click on Like. You should be able to read the latest newsletter, "The Heartbeat".

Also, National Public Radio is visiting so be listening for interviews and story about their outpost.

Signing off for now - Mama Luckett
