Golf Cart, Here We Come!

Daniel has been standing for the first time this week on his right foot at the MATC (Military Advanced Training Center). He stood with support bars on a foam pad with all his weight on his right foot. He made it look easy with no dizziness, wobblyness, or weakness.

Today his left leg was plaster casted to make the form for his prosthetics. He will get his new leg and form for his right foot on Monday. Dad and Matt will be here to see him use it for the first time. They are coming into town for a celebrity golf event. Wounded Warriors will golf with celebrities and pros. Steve and his brother are caddies for the event. Matt will golf for Daniel (much better score!) and Daniel will drive a golf cart.

Mom gets to go home for a few days and see how well they've all done without me. Really - they are all doing great. Steve makes a great pork chop and rice casserole according to him and Matt. I asked Matt which of my roles he wants to take over as Dad seems to be the cook and he replied, "spending the money."

Today Daniel's friend Wesby left for Iraq. He called about 30 minutes before getting on the bus to go. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family knowing well that Wesby is prepared for the work ahead.

Thanks to everyone for the cards, notes, calls and prayer.
